Job description

Job Summary
RP Constructors LLC began operations in 2015 and has experienced rapid growth each year since. Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Pipe Welder/Fitter to join our Industrial Division. This position is responsible for fabricating, fitting, welding, installing, maintaining, and repairing process and utility piping systems used in industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong fitting and welding skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented construction environment.
Responsibilities/Duties
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and welding procedures to determine project requirements.
  • Lay out, measure, cut, fit, fabricate, and assemble piping systems according to project specifications.
  • Perform pipe welding using approved welding procedures and processes, including TIG, MIG, Stick, and Flux Core as required.
  • Fit and tack piping components to proper alignment prior to welding.
  • Install process piping, utility piping, valves, supports, hangers, instruments, and related components.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and fit-up quality before welding.
  • Inspect completed welds and piping systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Repair, modify, or replace piping systems as needed.
  • Operate grinders, drills, cutting torches, beveling equipment, threading machines, and other fabrication tools.
  • Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and other material-handling equipment when authorized.
  • Safely rig, lift, and position materials using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, and other rigging equipment.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe working condition.
  • Follow all company safety policies, site-specific requirements, and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Skills/Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial pipe fitting and pipe welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and construction documents.
  • Thorough understanding of pipe fabrication, layout, and installation practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, weld procedures, and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of industrial piping materials, fittings, valves, and support systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot fit-up, alignment, and welding issues.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial pipe fitting and welding experience preferred.
  • Current welding certifications are preferred.
  • Must be able to work long and flexible hours, including weekends when required.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel and work at various project locations.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
