Bioworld is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to assist with licensing royalties, project management and other reporting/accounting matters. This position reports to the Controller and is an individual contributor.

JOB DUTIES

  • Coordinate review and documentation of license agreements (understand terms, rates, and payment structures) with Paralegal and Licensing team.
  • Review reporting to licensors and compare to contract terms. Analyze sales data, revenue streams, and costs to ensure accuracy in royalty calculations.
  • Support quarterly royalty reporting to licensors
  • Ensure all royalty accounting and reporting activities comply with contractual agreements and relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Maintain the royalty database, creating new contract entries, updating rates, and managing contact information.
  • Prepare royalty, inventory and departmental forecast reports.
  • Reconcile royalty payments with sales and other financial data to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Legal, Data Analytics) and external partners (e.g., licensees, rights holders) to address inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Maintain various balance sheet accounts and assist with the preparation of management estimates, as needed.
  • Support month-end close and financial statement preparation/analysis, as needed.
  • Partner with Inventory team to accurately account for inventory transactions, strengthen controls and provide required management reporting.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to examine existing procedures and help improve processes.
  • Partner with IT as part of team responsible for all software implementation and enhancements.
  • Support external audits from licensors, bank and external accounting firm.
  • Participating in quarterly town halls and team meetings presenting or facilitating short topics
  • Leading accounting initiatives
  • Mentoring team members

QUALIFICATIONS


Ideal candidate profile:

  • 7-10 years’ work experience in progressive accounting roles in a similar industry or with a company processing royalties (wholesale/distribution/retail or other inventory-based operations).
  • Audit and/or royalty experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Performs work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, Power BI, Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook) and ongoing system enhancements.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

  • BS/BA with Accounting Major required, CPA or CMA certifications are desirable
