Are you ready to play a crucial role in shaping the future of aviation? Joby is seeking a

Router Shop Technician to support our Composite Manufacturing efforts. You will participate in several aspects of the CNC composite trimming production environment. Hands-on experience and a "get it done" attitude are very important. This internship will be in person at our Marina CA location.

Shift Schedules below: 

1st shift - Monday - Thursday: 7AM- 5:30PM 2nd shift- Monday - Thursday: 5:30PM - 4:00AM 3rd shift -Friday - Sunday: 6AM - 6:30PM 

Responsibilities
  • Assist machine operators with fixture setups, loading/unloading, and machine cleanup
  • Assist in organizational projects like CNC cutters and shop tools storage and CNC trim fixture inventory and organization
  • Regularly use hand tools, like power drills and torque wrenches, to setup fixtures
  • Regularly operate heavy equipment, like a forklift and crane, to safely move and organize fixtures ranging from 20lb-1200lbs
  • Perform deburring and cleaning operations on finished, CNC trimmed composite parts
  • Clean and organize shop space daily
  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet production deadlines and quality standards
  • Establish and continuously improve a well-organized and safe environment for all workspaces
  • Do a variety of supporting tasks that are needed to get the job done
Required
  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent 
  • Work schedule Monday- Friday 3:30pm- 12am
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs. unassisted and stand at a workstation for extended periods (over 4 hours), excluding meals and breaks.
  • Experience in a machine shop environment
  • Hands-on, mechanical attitude, detail-oriented work habits
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and comprehension skills
  • Effective organizational skills to manage a high volume of shop equipment
  • Experience operating heavy equipment like a forklift and crane

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $22-$32/hour.
