Route Sales Driver (Mobile Store Manager)

New Castle, DE | Full-Time | Sales | Saf-Gard Safety Shoe Company

As a Mobile Store Manager, you'll operate a fully stocked Mobile Shoe Store, visiting customer locations and helping workers find the right safety footwear for their job. You'll build relationships, deliver exceptional service, manage inventory, and represent Saf-Gard® as the face of our company in your assigned territory.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, meeting new people and making a direct impact on customer satisfaction and workplace safety. No CDL is required, making this a great fit for candidates exploring non CDL route driver jobs or outside sales jobs. Many of our company's leaders started in this role. What You'll Do

Customer Service & Sales

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during scheduled shoe truck visits
  • Help employees select safety footwear that meets company requirements and personal comfort needs
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience through and personalized service
  • Build trust with customers and strengthen long-term account relationships
  • Process transactions, collect required signatures,
  • Assist with exchanges, returns, and customer follow-up as needed

Route & Territory Management

  • Operate a 26-foot mobile retail store to pre-scheduled fittings in your assigned region
  • Manage daily Mobile Shoe Store visits to ensure outstanding customer service every time
  • Coordinate with account contacts and internal teams before, during and after customer visits
  • Accurately complete and maintain driving records and logs, including compliance with all DOT requirements
  • Communicate scheduling conflicts to internal teams as needed
  • Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations

Inventory & Mobile Store Operations

  • Stock and maintain inventory levels on the Mobile Shoe Store based on upcoming customer appointments
  • Support inventory management, merchandising and product presentation within the mobile showroom
  • Set up and prepare the mobile store at customer locations, including safety and operational requirements
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and replenish stock
  • Assist with shipping, receiving and warehouse activities when required
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in customer service, route sales, outside sales, retail sales, field sales, account management or related customer-facing roles
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing daily responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to safely operate a 26-foot box truck
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening (CDL not required)
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull product as needed throughout the workday
  • Customer-focused mindset with a genuine desire to help others
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus
Travel & Schedule
  • Full-time position
  • Overnight travel required
  • Average travel is 2–3 nights per week, depending on region
  • Hotel accommodations and meal stipend provided during overnight travel
Compensation & Benefits
  • Guaranteed first year minimum total compensation of $55,000. Average total compensation after first year $56,500- $62,500
  • Company-paid dental, vision, long-term disability, short-term disability, and life insurance beginning the first of the month after 60 days
  • Multi-tiered medical insurance plans to choose from (benefits valued at over $10,000 annually)
  • 8 paid holidays per year
  • PTO is available after 90 days, accrued bi-weekly at a rate of 3.08 hours (2 weeks annualized after 1st year). Bi-weekly accrual rate increases to 4.62 hours after 7 years (3 weeks annualized)
