Job Overview:

Sweetheart Ice Cream is seeking a dynamic Route Sales Associate Supervisor to oversee and manage our route sales and delivery operations. This role involves working strategically with District Leadership and a team of route sales associates. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for sales, and the ability to manage both sales and logistical operations, communicate with diverse customers and team members.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Management: Supervise and support a team of route sales associates to meet sales goals and maintain a high standard of customer service in the retail environment.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and motivate sales associates to ensure the highest levels of performance, customer satisfaction, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers in addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and offering product recommendations to drive sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Driver Supervision: Assist in coaching a team of route sales associates responsible for delivering retail products to customers, ensuring that deliveries are made on time and in good condition. Covering routes on a as needed basis to meet customer expectations.
  • Inventory Management: Ensuring POGs are reset and maintained to ensure planogram integrity. Monitor inventory levels in the retail store and on delivery trucks, coordinating with the inventory team to ensure sufficient product availability for customers.
  • Route Coordination: Work with leadership & route sales associates to optimize delivery routes, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely deliveries.
  • Scheduling: Create and manage work schedules for route sales associates to ensure proper coverage for delivery operations.
  • Training & Development: Provide ongoing training to route sales associates on product knowledge, sales techniques, customer service, and safety protocols.
  • Compliance: Ensure all route sales associates follow safety regulations, company policies, and relevant transportation laws during deliveries. Maintain compliance with health and safety standards in the retail environment.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues related to sales, customer service, or deliveries, making sure that solutions are implemented quickly and effectively.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in Retail Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in retail sales or delivery operations, with at least 1 year in a Direct Store Delivery supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide both route sales associates and drivers.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and address their concerns effectively. Spanish a plus but not required.
  • Experience with retail sales processes, inventory management, and delivery logistics.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and retail management software.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move products, as well as perform tasks in a physically demanding environment.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and driving regulations.
