Job description

Role Summary:
The Rotating Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the dismantle, clean, and inspect processes of all pumps (repair or upgrade) and decoking equipment. In this role, you will utilize precision inspection equipment to measure dimensions of components and assemblies. You will also repair and assemble equipment meeting quality standards, company policies, and on-time delivery.
First Shift Opportunity 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday. Overtime required when needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Follow instructions given in pre-job briefings and complete all checklists, routers, and procedures.
  • Clean each part to be reused and documenting the condition of components.
  • Use hand torches and liquid nitrogen when appropriate in the teardown process.
  • Disassemble products to repair or replace defective materials or worn parts and make other repairs, as necessary.
  • Inspect components and assemblies accurately and precisely, and clearly record the results of these inspections.
  • Remove visible dirt, grit oil, grease, and other foreign matter from pump product parts, prior to assembly.
  • Frequently apply primer and finish coatings to the exterior of pump products and parts using spray equipment.
  • Operate various precision measuring tools.
  • Take pictures to document condition and process.
  • Participate and adhere to the implementation and use of appropriate reporting and operating systems, manufacturing, and quality processes.
  • Participate and report quality related problems. Report deviations, ensure creation of Non-Conformity Reports and execute corrective actions identified.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with production planners and customers to discuss the component and pump conditions
  • Coordinate and interface with sales, operations, engineers, and customers as necessary.
  • Exhibit behavior that encourages teambuilding, decision-making, problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Experience as a rotating machinery mechanic.
  • Must have personal set of mechanic's tools, micrometers, and roll-around toolbox.
  • Able to stand for long periods and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work overtime hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required:
  • Experience with pumps or heavy machinery.
  • Centrifugal pump experience
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Pump repair experience
  • Must be able to dismantle the pump

Preferred:
  • HS Diploma / GED and 3-5 years relevant experience
