Job description

Summary:
The Restaurant Cook at Rosen Hotels & Resorts is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food items for restaurant, banquet, and resort dining operations in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. This role plays a key part in delivering exceptional guest experiences by consistently producing menu items that meet established recipes, presentation guidelines, and company quality standards. The Restaurant Cook is expected to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Working collaboratively with kitchen team members and leadership, this position supports daily culinary operations, ensures efficient service during high-volume periods, and demonstrates a commitment to excellence, teamwork, and guest satisfaction in accordance with Rosen Hotels & Resorts standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes, portion guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared, presented, and served to meet company standards and guest expectations for quality, taste, and appearance.
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Properly handle, store, label, and rotate food products to preserve freshness and minimize waste.
  • Monitor food quality through visual inspection, tasting, and other quality control measures.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels, reporting shortages, and supporting proper stock control practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation throughout each shift.
  • Follow all company policies, including workplace safety and drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free workplace requirements.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude when interacting with guests, coworkers, and management.
  • Support kitchen operations by assisting with prep work, cleaning duties, and other operational tasks as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by kitchen leadership.
  • Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience as a Cook, Line Cook, Prep Cook, or in a similar food service or hospitality role preferred.
  • Experience preparing and cooking food in a fast-paced restaurant, hotel, resort, catering, or commercial kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment operation.
  • Experience following standardized recipes, portion controls, and food presentation guidelines.
  • Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a kitchen team to meet service and production demands.
  • Previous experience with inventory control, stock rotation, and minimizing food waste is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
  • Must be able to legally work in the USA.

Education and Certification(s)/License(s):
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification and/or ServSafe Certification preferred (or ability to obtain as required).
