SUMMARY OF POSITION:

  • Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and implement the mission of summer camps and guest groups by leading and supporting the members of the adventure staff team in delivering excellent activity based programming and in their other duties.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help run camp, guest group, and Community Worship programs with excellence
  • Complete staff training and follow all camp policies
  • Stay spiritually and physically fit to minister
  • Become familiar with campus staff, facilities, and grounds
  • Oversee, encourage, and provide feedback and accountability to other staff as part of the summer leadership team

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a vital, growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Lead and support the members of the adventure staff team as you collectively run and support the activities of camp and guest group programs
  • Plan and coordinate setup of various activities
  • Teach and equip staff in knowledge and skills needed to perform their duties with excellence
  • Obey and enforce all camp rules and policies
  • Run activity sites according to Grace procedures including (but not limited to):
  • Target Sports: Slingshots, archery, BB guns, 22's, shotguns, laser tag, etc...
  • Waterfront: Canoes & kayaks, swimming, blobbing, etc...
  • High Adventure: Climbing tower, ropes course, zipline, etc...
  • Outdoor Activities: Biking, group games, etc...
  • Cooperatives and Teambuilding
  • Attend all staff meetings
  • Assist with housekeeping: cleaning showers, bathrooms, and buildings to meet standards of excellence
  • Support Community Worship as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)

POSITION TYPE: Seasonal

HOUSING: Provided throughout contract dates

MEALS: Provided throughout contract dates whenever campers or guests are being served

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Love for kids and adults and the ability to communicate with them
  • Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours and lifting at times. Ability to work in various weather climates and conditions.
  • Willing and teachable attitude
  • Experience leading people
  • Team-based mindset
  • Minimum age 18 years old (21 or older preferred)
  • Lifeguard Certification (not required, training provided)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License (preferred, but not required)
