Commercial Roofing Senior Estimator



Eskola, LLC - Southeast Region | Full-Time | $100,000 - $130,000/year + Performance-Based Bonus Opportunities (Based on Qualifications & Experience)


Eskola, LLC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Commercial Roofing Senior Estimator to join our growing team! This leadership role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates for complex commercial roofing and waterproofing projects throughout the Southeast while providing technical guidance and mentorship to the estimating team. You'll serve as a subject matter expert throughout the preconstruction process, working closely with Business Development, Sales, Operations, Project Management, and Executive Leadership to secure profitable work and position Eskola as the contractor of choice.


What You Will Do


  • Serve as lead estimator for large, complex, and high-profile commercial roofing and waterproofing projects, from several hundred thousand to multi-million-dollar contracts
  • Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements; perform detailed quantity takeoffs using digital estimating software
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions, logistics, safety considerations, and project risk
  • Prepare complete cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, general conditions, safety, permits, mobilization, overhead, and profit for new construction, re-roofing, recover, restoration/coatings, waterproofing, sheet metal, and specialty roofing systems
  • Prepare detailed bid packages, proposals, alternates, qualifications, and clarifications, including profitability and margin review prior to submission
  • Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors, owners, architects, and consultants; solicit and negotiate competitive pricing
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior estimators; help establish estimating standards, procedures, and best practices
  • Participate in strategic bid reviews, Go/No-Go decisions, and pre-construction meetings with internal teams and external partners
  • Maintain historical estimating data, track KPIs, and report on bid activity, forecasting, and backlog to leadership



What We Are Looking For


  • Minimum 5+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience
  • Advanced proficiency with The EDGE V.12 estimating software
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, BUR, metal roofing, coatings, and waterproofing
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing, blueprint interpretation, specifications, and contract documents
  • Experience preparing negotiated proposals, conceptual budgets, and design-build estimates
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to evaluate project profitability and risk
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and customer relationship skills
  • Comfortable accessing rooftops and safely using ladders and elevated access equipment
  • Frequent travel to project sites, customer meetings, and pre-bid conferences, with occasional overnight travel
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening


Preferred Skills & Certifications


  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, or similar construction software
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas and cost analysis
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Manufacturer certifications from major commercial roofing manufacturers
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
