What are roofing reviews?

Roofing reviews are evaluations or feedback provided by customers regarding their experiences with roofing contractors or companies. These reviews often cover aspects such as the quality of work, professionalism, timeliness, and overall satisfaction with the roofing service. Homeowners commonly use roofing reviews to help choose reliable contractors by reading about others' experiences. Reviews can be found on various platforms, including company websites, Google, Yelp, and specialized home improvement sites. They play a crucial role in building a company's reputation and helping customers make informed decisions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a roofing reviewer, and why are they important?

To excel as a Roofing Reviewer, you need a solid understanding of roofing systems, construction standards, and inspection techniques, often supported by experience in roofing or construction and relevant certifications. Familiarity with inspection reporting software, digital photography, and building code databases is typically required. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective written communication help reviewers provide clear, actionable feedback. These skills ensure that evaluations are accurate, comprehensive, and help maintain safety and quality standards in roofing projects.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals responsible for managing roofing reviews, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals managing roofing reviews often face challenges such as handling negative feedback, ensuring timely responses to customer concerns, and accurately representing the company's services online. Addressing these challenges involves establishing a clear process for monitoring reviews across platforms, responding empathetically and professionally to dissatisfied customers, and encouraging satisfied clients to share their positive experiences. Building strong relationships with both customers and the roofing team helps ensure that feedback is constructive and leads to continuous improvement.

What is the difference between Roofing Reviews vs Roofing Contractors?

AspectRoofing ReviewsRoofing Contractors
CredentialsNot requiredLicenses and certifications often required
Work EnvironmentOnline platforms, customer feedbackOn-site, construction sites
Industry UsageEvaluating and comparing servicesProviding roofing services
Search IntentFinding reputable roofersHiring roofing professionals

Roofing Reviews focus on evaluating and comparing roofing companies based on customer feedback, while Roofing Contractors are licensed professionals who perform roofing installation and repairs. Both are essential in the roofing industry but serve different purposes: reviews help consumers choose the right contractor, whereas contractors provide the actual roofing services.

Is working in roofing worth it?

Roofing is a physically demanding job that involves working outdoors, often at heights, and requires safety training and physical fitness. It can offer steady employment and opportunities for overtime, but it also involves exposure to weather conditions and potential safety risks.

Where do roofing reviews make the most money?

Roofing review jobs tend to pay more in regions with higher property values and larger commercial projects, where contractors have bigger budgets for marketing and reputation management. Additionally, experienced reviewers with specialized knowledge or certifications can command higher rates, especially in competitive markets or for detailed, technical assessments.

Lava Roofing is located in Hawaii. Candidates must be able to relocate to Hawaii. Relocation assistance is provided by the company.

Location: Kailua-Kona, HI. This is an in-person position serving project sites throughout the Kona area and surrounding Big Island communities.

Lead the Crew. Set the Standard.

Lava Roofing is an established Hawaii roofing contractor with more than 25 years of experience. Our team completes residential, commercial, government, and specialty roofing projects with a strong commitment to honest communication, professional service, workplace safety, and quality craftsmanship.

Lava Roofing is seeking an experienced Roofing Crew Foreman to lead field crews and oversee the daily execution of roofing projects throughout Kona and the surrounding Big Island area. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can organize daily work, maintain safety and quality standards, coordinate labor and materials, and ensure every crew member understands the project plan. The Foreman will also contribute directly to roofing work when needed.

  • Enforce job-site safety standards and correct unsafe practices.
  • Monitor workmanship, productivity, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Inspect roofing details, flashing, seams, fasteners, penetrations, and completed work.
  • Train and coach laborers on roofing methods and safe tool use.
  • Communicate project progress, labor needs, material needs, and challenges to management.
  • Coordinate with project managers, customers, vendors, and other trades.
  • Maintain accurate time, production, and job-site records.
  • Keep job sites organized and ensure customer property is protected.
  • Perform hands-on roofing duties when additional crew support is needed.

  • Previous experience as a roofing foreman, crew leader, or lead installer.
  • Strong knowledge of roofing materials, tools, installation practices, and repair methods.
  • Ability to understand project scopes, measurements, plans, and installation details.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, train, and hold crew members accountable.
  • Strong safety awareness and sound job-site judgment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and resolve field challenges.
  • Comfortable performing physical roofing work outdoors.
  • Dependable, professional, and committed to quality craftsmanship.
Pay and Benefits
  • Full-time, W-2, nonexempt employment.
  • Pay: $50.00 - $60.00per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Overtime may be available depending on project schedules and will be paid in accordance with applicable law.
  • Eligible for a performance-based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are based on company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.
  • Paid time off.
  • Medical insurance with company contribution toward eligible employee premiums.
  • Leadership opportunity with an established Hawaii roofing company.
  • Schedule: Full-time, generally Monday through Friday. Early morning start times, overtime, and occasional weekend work may be required based on project schedules and weather conditions.
Why Lava Roofing?

Lava Roofing gives experienced field leaders the support and responsibility needed to produce excellent work.
