Job description

Learn to set up roll forming and press machines to produce metal shapes for various customers in this pay-for-skills position. We're expanding our team & hiring!

What You’ll Be Doing:

Under direct supervision, will perform tasks including but not limited to assisting in setting up tools, dies, and equipment for production of material as specified by work orders, blueprints and diagrams. Load and unload parts on roll machines. Makes minor adjustments and performs coil and line changeovers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

  • Follows all established safety guidelines and production procedures, including those for ISO-9002/D1-9000
  • Successfully completes all required training, including but not limited to STEPS program training (JIT, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma), Basic Math, Blueprint Reading and all trainee-level roll operator courses.
  • Uses knowledge of Visual Software, Tickets and Labels Software, and Route Sheets to ensure production needs are accurately identified and recorded.
  • Under direct supervision, will safely set-up the roll line and produce roll-formed parts while using blueprints and set-up charts and will assist with loading and unloading the materials from the equipment while using guarding, cranes, and bundling materials.
  • Shall perform general housekeeping duties and actively participate in continuous improvement projects.


Earning potential: Trainee range is $25/hr. with opportunity for pay-for-skill promotions and time-based pay adjustments. Apprentice at $26/hr.; Qualified $27.50/hr.; Certified $29.25 and Master $30.00/hr.

Hours/Shifts:

2nd shift: 3:00PM - 11:30AM Monday to Friday, $1/hour shift premium

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One-to-three months experience, including: machine set-up, metal-working, welding/fabrication. Preferred experience includes performing part inspections, setting and running equipment, and blueprint reading.
  • Computer Skills are required - to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software and ability to learn how to new programs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and 75 lbs. as needed
  • Must be able to work shift assigned and overtime as needed.


Preferred

  • Consistent experience in manufacturing
  • Preferred experience includes roll-forming or welded tube experience, machine set-up, perform part inspections, and reading blueprints
  • Experience performing setups or machine operations / metal fabrication
  • Experience performing part inspections and/or reading blueprints
  • Ability to demonstrate strong work history with good longevity at previous or current employers
