Parking Traffic Team Lead

Trail Drive Management Corp. Dickies Arena of Fort Worth, TX

Dickies Arena is a 14,000-seat, spectacular multipurpose venue located adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus in Fort Worth, Texas. The arena is owned by the City of Fort Worth and managed by the not-for-profit operating entity, Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC). The state-of-the-art arena, opened in November 2019, hosts concerts, sporting events, and family entertainment, and is the new home to Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo performances.

Job Summary:

Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC) is looking for a part-time Parking Team Lead. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate setup of traffic control equipment and barriers before event ingress and egress, and the removal of the same after each event.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Read and review event memos to be familiar with each events traffic plan
  • Lead a team of individuals to set up and take down traffic control equipment before and after vehicle ingress/egress
  • Responsible for ensuring staff are wearing proper safety clothing
  • Responsible for monitoring the safety conditions of staff working on the traffic team
  • Responsible for ensuring that all vehicle lights and flashers are operating during traffic setup and clearing
  • Responsible for ensuring all members of the team who drive vehicles operate in a safe manner
  • Responsible for ensuring that team members loading cones from moving trailers are seated or riding properly, depending on the functions being performed
  • Delegate and assign duties to members of the traffic team
  • Conduct follow-up tour to ensure all components of the traffic plan are completed before ingress/ egress
  • Conduct a follow-up tour to ensure all equipment and traffic control items are cleared after each event
  • Drive a pickup truck with an attached trailer while team members place and remove cones from public streets
  • Adapt parking plan based on last-minute changes as directed by Parking Manager
  • Assist in traffic directions during parking ingress and egress for events
  • Monitor severe weather conditions, especially lightning situations, to ensure the safety of the traffic team
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License
  • Must be capable of driving a pickup truck with an attached trailer
  • Must be capable of backing up a trailer and hitching and unhitching a trailer from a pickup truck
  • Must be capable of basic vehicle maintenance such as jump-starting a vehicle, changing a flat tire, and checking oil levels.
  • Ability to read traffic planning maps
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Employees will work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Employees must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Employees may be asked to move objects weighing more than 500 pounds using appropriate equipment.
  • Employees will regularly spend their shift standing/walking, traveling stairs, with limited to no sitting.
  • Employees may be exposed to high noise levels and/or fluctuating lights in event settings.
  • Employees must have the ability to reach, lift, and bend to perform job duties throughout the shift.
  • Employees may be exposed to hazards associated with moving vehicles and require strict adherence to safety protocols.
