Chef de Cuisine

Dining Services | Chestnut Ridge at Rodale

Do you have a passion for creating exceptional food while leading a team dedicated to outstanding service? Phoebe Ministries is seeking a talented Chef de Cuisine to join our Dining Services team. In this role, you'll prepare high-quality meals for residents and guests while helping ensure every dish meets our standards for quality, safety, and presentation.

What You'll Do

The Chef de Cuisine prepares lunch, dinner, café specials, and cook-to-order meals while leading kitchen staff during food production and service. This role ensures food safety standards are met, monitors temperatures, completes required documentation, minimizes waste, maintains a clean and organized kitchen, opens and closes the kitchen, and promotes a positive, team-oriented environment that reflects Phoebe's Faith in Action values.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of culinary, food production, or commercial kitchen experience, and preferably experience in healthcare, hospitality, institutional dining, or other high-volume food service environments. ServeSafe certification is required, or the ability to obtain it during the introductory employment period. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, standardized recipes, food safety, and sanitation practices, along with excellent communication, teamwork, organizational, and time management skills. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritizes multiple tasks while maintaining quality standards, takes pride in preparing exceptional meals, leads by example, supports fellow team members, upholds the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety, demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and accountability, and is committed to creating a positive dining experience for residents and guests.
