South Georgia Regional Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE pathologist to join its employed provider group. Facility is a wellโ€‘established, CAP-accredited laboratory system serving multiple hospital campuses and clinics across South Georgia. The ideal candidate will bring expertise, collaboration, and a passion for advancing laboratory medicine in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Practice Overview:

  • Opportunities for shared or independent medical director responsibilities, allowing the right candidate to play an influential role in shaping pathology services across our region
  • A long-established, CAP-accredited laboratory system with robust infrastructure.
  • High-volume core laboratory processing 2โ€“3 million tests annually. Specialties supporting case volume include general surgery, orthopedics, OBGYN, Gastroenterology, ENT, Urology, Radiology, Interventional Radiology and Neurosurgery.
  • Advanced microbiology department, recognized as a leader in our region
  • Roche is our primary vendor, offering a comprehensive menu of diagnostic testing
  • Dedicated immunology department supporting gel interpretations and allergy testing
  • Interpret a broad range of pathology cases across a high-functioning, multi-location hospital system
  • Collaborate with laboratory leadership to advance departmental capabilities
  • Provide expertise in developing and expanding diagnostic testing offerings
  • Support clinical teams with consultative pathology services

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with board certification/eligibility in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
  • Strong general anatomic pathology and clinical pathology skills are required
  • Eligibility for Georgia medical licensure
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Interest in contributing to departmental growth and influencing regional pathology services
