Job description

Position Purpose:
The purpose the Manufacturing Engineering Technician is to support the daily manufacturing operations and processes in the facility. This will include maintaining and improving equipment in terms of safety, quality, and productivity. This position will develop programs and parameters for selected production processes. This position identifies and implements process improvements. This position will also be responsible for training associates.
Essential Functions:
  • Maximize productive time of equipment by improving the reliability and repeatability of production systems.
  • Coordinate and assist with equipment installation and start up.
  • Assist in evaluating existing tooling and hardware to ensure optimum performance by associates.
  • Assist in the development of quality systems for new products and processes.
  • Identify areas in which tooling, cleanliness, operation sequences or forming consistency can be improved to increase throughput or product quality.
  • Oversee tooling and suggest and implement modification to improve system productivity.
  • Decrease robotic cycle times by implementing the use of advanced welding technology.

Education and Training
  • Associate Degree or bachelor's degree in welding engineering technology, electronics, industrial maintenance or other related programs is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years of experience performing MIG welding by hand desired.
  • Must be proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, fluid power mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Should be familiar with regulatory requirements outlined by OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC and other state/local organizations.
  • Ability to interpret prints, sketches, verbal instructions, and mathematical data to generate tooling, gauging, fixturing and material handling for systems is required.
  • Robotic systems programming experience is preferred.
