Job description

Plus One Robotics is a dynamic startup developing cutting-edge robotic solutions for logistics and e-commerce applications. We aim to revolutionize automation with high-performance systems that integrate hardware and software seamlessly.
Role Overview
Located onsite in our San Antonio HQ, as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for the design and development of robotics hardware for our InductOne and related systems. You will also be analyzing designs for loading (dynamic and static) in order to meet performance and quality requirements. You work with a small team (2-4 people) of talented electrical and mechanical engineers. You will drive hardware architecture by collaborating with electrical and software engineers. As a Sr member of the team you will help drive best practices and mentor less experienced engineers. Key Responsibilities:
Technical Execution & Product Development
• Establish and demonstrate best practices for mechanical change management
• Create mechanical 3D models, drawings, and other specifications
• Specify industrial components for mechanical design
• Specify and evaluate control system machine safety
• Define life cycle requirements and design tests
• Deliver high-quality hardware releases within scope and timeline.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with electrical development teams to place and route controls components
• Support technical requests from operations and field teams.
• Estimate task level of effort and timelines.
• Report task status, risks, and roadblocks to leadership.
Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in a technical leadership role within robotics, automation, or hardware product development.
• Minimum of 2 years technical leadership experience in mechanical design
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Electrical, or a related field.
• Expertise in robotic systems.
• Experience various of manufacturing processes: welded frames, sheet metal, 3D printing, etc.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, or similar tools
• Experience in cost reduction and manufacturing optimization of electro-mechanical products
• Experience with engineering change management and/or product life cycle management tools.
• Strong background in software/hardware integration and product development processes.
Work Environment & Travel
• This position operates in a professional office setting with occasional exposure to robotic systems and moving mechanical parts.
• The noise level in the work environment and job sites may at times be loud.
• 10% travel in for the purposes of customer support, first article inspections, site acceptance testing, sales support, conference participation, etc. Although rare, some travel may be last minute.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Location
Full time, 40 hours/week between M-F, 9:00am-6:00pm at our San Antonio based Headquarters
Pay and Benefits:
The salary for this role is dependent on experience. The range for this role is $115,000-131,000 per year and is a bonus eligible position.
