Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced Robotics Field Engineer to join our team to support one of top clients in Cedar Rapids, IA and Sandston, VA. The engineer will directly work with client system engineers, local client logistics teams, and with other Field Deployment engineers remotely. Be responsible for deploying different types of robots to field, including preparation, data entry, data analysis, and post activities. This is a full-time, long term benefited position with competitive compensation

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating potential hazards
  • Provide training and guidance to robotics operators, technicians, and other stakeholders on safe operating procedures and best practices
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into robotics design, development, and deployment
  • Service robotics equipment and ensure any issues are resolved in a timely manner to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Provisioning new robotics equipment and repositioning equipment across the data centers as needed. Enforcing tug utilization standards (how many racks = robotics needed)

Pre-Deployment Phase

  • Conduct site-by-site status assessments to ensure readiness for robotics deployment
  • Develop and implement detailed project schedules by robotic type
  • Create comprehensive training programs for operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisors
  • Train operators on safe and efficient operation of new equipment
  • Train personnel on equipment maintenance requirements and procedures
  • Train supervisors on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Introduce and deploy maintenance portal at each site with robotics Site Acceptance Testing Phase
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct site acceptance testing
  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing

Post-Deployment/Operationalization Phase

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:
  • Equipment Utilization Rate
  • Downtime, Maintenance Costs, Safety Incidents
  • Throughput (original SAT vs operational in practice), Cycle Time (original SAT vs operational in practice)
  • Vendor performance/Warranty (tracking of warranty work orders and estimated hours)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience of Linux command line (at least understands basics)
  • Basic ability to troubleshoot complex software / hardware configuration problems.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage continuously changing business needs; excellent time management skills required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience of training program is a huge plus
  • Any customer service skills is good to have
  • Experience around safety programs is advantage
  • Background in robotics-related tasks is preferred.
  • DC/Server room experience is good to have

  • A competitive pay range of $ 75,000 to $85,000 (depending on experience and location).
