Job Summary:

Support Field Sales, Internal Sales and Project Management in sizing and application of Material Handling & Auxiliaries product lines marketed by Wittmann USA, Inc.; assisting with estimating and costing as needed. Master the application of products marketed by Wittmann USA, Inc. for pre-sale and post-sale support to customers and colleagues.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Complete all bill of materials for Material Handling Systems sold.
  • Be able to support Material Handling System sizing.
  • Application sizing of beside the press material handling and auxiliary equipment.
  • Create and maintain estimate records for current and future use by engineering and sales personnel.
  • Identify current and future equipment requirements by establishing a relationship with potential and existing accounts. Provides product, service, and equipment information by answering questions and requests.
  • Communicate within engineering department for the generation/modification of system schematics and layouts for every single material handling system proposal and order.
  • Provide overflow support to engineering department for flow schematics and layouts.
  • Provide overflow support to engineering department for mechanical, electrical, and control related work.
  • Use product knowledge to properly size and specify equipment for each customer’s application.
  • Develop OEM and Vendor relationships.
  • Provide product development group with input for creating new products to enhance the existing product line. Make recommendations for modifying existing products to improve features, reduce cost, and/or extend useful service life.
  • Participate and in Auxiliaries seminars and selected shows and exhibitions where Wittmann products are featured and presented.
  • Maintain a "Customer Friendly" attitude whenever dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Travel 10-20%
  • Expense reports due in professional manner, within the month (4 weeks of travel).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Material handling system sizing and application engineering.
  • Cost estimating and quotation support.
  • Proposal preparation and documentation.
  • Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • System configuration and specification development.
  • Ability to maintain accurate engineering and estimate records.
  • Ability to support engineering overflow projects efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Firm understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts.
  • Use Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel.
  • Use of 2D and 3D drafting software, preferably SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrate ability to conduct product startup and training, and sales training for the Material Handling system product lines.
  • Ability to cross-sell other product lines when needed.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering preferred.
  • Two to five years of experience, Plastics Industry or technical system/machine proposal experience preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform frequent bending, lifting, and moving of materials.
  • Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
