Position Overview

As a Medical Step Down RN, you'll play a vital role in caring for patients transitioning from critical care or managing complex medical needs. Your role ensures seamless, compassionate, and high-quality patient-centered care while promoting collaboration across the healthcare team.

You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team that values clinical excellence, empathy, and teamwork providing an environment where both patients and staff can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive, age-specific patient assessments on admission and throughout care.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely, documenting all care accurately in EPIC, the electronic medical record system.
  • Revise care plans as patient conditions change to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and teamwork to deliver exceptional service and quality care.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (eligible to sit for the VA RN licensure exam).
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in Virginia or eligibility to obtain.
  • CPR certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP obtained as needed.
  • Proficiency in EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems.
  • Successful completion of orientation and competency requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $30.47 - $45.71/hour (based on experience)
  • Schedule: Day Shift | Every Other Weekend | Rotating Holidays
  • Sign-On Bonus:
    • Up to $30,000 for Experienced RNs
    • Up to $20,000 for New Graduate RNs (must meet eligibility criteria)
