Job description

As a Registered Nurse - SDS/PACU you will assess, plan, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice at Lakeview Hospital; to provide work direction for and oversight of the nursing care provided by unlicensed personnel; to perform and document functions such as carrying out the provider's medical orders; to assist providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures; to provide a safe and therapeutic environment; to coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient his/her family, health professionals and important others; to perform related duties as assigned. 

Work Schedule:  0 hrs weekly / 0 FTE; Casual day/evening hours with call component

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or equivalent. 
  • Licensed as a RN by Minnesota Board of Nursing or has a Wisconsin RN License and Minnesota Boarder State Registry  
  • Registered nurses re-entering the nursing field, who have not completed 520 hours of nursing practice in the past four (4) years must successfully complete a recognized refresher course to qualify for employment. Written information of certification validating successful completion of a refresher course must be provided before employment. 
  • Current BLS - American Hart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider) 
  • ACLS certification required from AHA within 6 months of start date if not present at hire
  • PALS / ENPC certification required within 6 months of start date if not present at hire
  • Minimum of one-year RN PACU experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate or Master's degree in Nursing
  • Associate Degree prepared nurses enrolled in Baccalaureate in Nursing program
  • Specialty Certification in the RN's area of expertise (e.g. CCRN, PCCN, CNOR, CPAN, CAPA, etc)
