Job description

RMB Products is seeking a 3rd Shift Supervisor who is responsible for directly supervising and coordinating the activities of the 3rd shift employees. The employee must be reliable, punctual, and able to thrive in a high pace work environment. Overtime may be required for the position.

Schedule: 3rd Shift 11:00pm-7:30am with OT as required/needed.

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:

This position includes the following essential functions, but is not limited to them:

  • Manage and direct the efforts of subordinates in their daily activity through work assignments to meet production schedules
  • Provide guidance, instruction, and training to produce a quality product in a safe manner
  • Responsible for the daily production activity including fabrication, surface preparation, lining, molding, trimming, of value stream products
  • Provide technical advice to the Engineering and Sales Departments for value stream products
  • Ensure value stream objectives are met in regard to on time delivery and quality
  • Ensure safety, 5S and maintenance activities are followed
  • Ensure that all documentation related to work performed in the value stream are accurate and filled out in a timely manner
  • Hires, coaches, reviews, supervises, and makes effective suggestions and recommendations that are given particular weight regarding the employment status of assigned employees
  • Maintains time, payroll and materials records as required
  • Supervises, coordinates, and actively assists in the daily activities of all personnel on 3rd shift
  • Provide Weekly Updates to all pertinent Value Stream Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Additional training and/or education may be required
  • Strong knowledge and experience within the area of responsibility
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office; advanced Excel and Visual Manufacturing Software experience are a plus
  • Ability to plan and execute work independently
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while effectively managing time and priorities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
  • Ensure personnel follow all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain excellent safety practices, including keeping a clean work area
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, and written work instructions
  • Maintain confidentiality of company, customer, project, and employee information
  • Adapt to change and incorporate RMB feedback and process improvements
  • Demonstrate personal accountability and consistently meet workmanship standards
  • Must be able to work on-site in a plant/warehouse environment
  • Maintain a flexible, team-oriented attitude and perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position

Physical Requirements and Hazards

The employee will be required:

  • Standing: working with machinery
  • Sitting: computer work
  • Ability to operate a fork-lift and overhead crane
  • Lifting no more than 50 pounds alone and assisting in team lifts of more than 50 pounds
  • Each employee is to fulfill the work schedule, work hours, and productivity expectations of their supervisor and RMB
  • An employee is to comply with established standards, policies, and laws applicable to our business
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
