Job description

Summary/Objective
  • Provide electrical support in the Riverence facilities working as a team member to make sure that food products are processed according to quality specifications and customer needs.

Essential Functions
Ability to perform functions in Riverence facilities that ultimately produce products for Customers:
  • Installs electrical wiring systems to support Riverence Facilities equipment.
  • Work with outside electrical contractors as assigned.
  • Troubleshoots diagnoses and corrects electrical problems and failures.
  • Install and maintain electrical equipment, both alternating and direct current.
  • Perform mechanical work on electrical equipment.
  • Work to meet current electrical codes and company policies and practices.
  • Select proper equipment as required.
  • Ability to read electrical and related blueprints.
  • Perform mathematics to determine proper components and installation requirements.
  • Direct work and instruct other electricians, helpers and apprentices.
  • Operate production and packaging equipment to check work as required.
  • Comply with all safety regulations, attend safety meetings and follow all plant and safety rules
  • Follow all good manufacturing practices as set up by the company policy.
  • Ability to work on various Riverence Facilities machines and equipment as required.
  • Communicate and Work as a Team Member
  • Participate in some discussion about confidential/sensitive matters.
  • Communicate with employees and others through written, oral and face-to-face interactions.
  • Assist other team members in completion of work.
  • Communicate with fellow employees to complete tasks and adhere to safety standards.

Supervisory Responsibility

Work Environment
The worker is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Worker will be exposed to a 32ยฐF environment on occasion. The worker is subject to noise. The worker can be subject to cold and wet conditions.
Physical Demands
This job involves medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The worker will be required to have a range of motion as follows:
  • Often requires walking, moving or climbing to accomplish tasks.
  • Often requires standing for sustained periods of time.
  • Occasionally requires stooping and reaching.
  • Occasionally requires pushing using upper extremities to press against something with steady force.
  • Occasionally requires pulling using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting is required on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to use pallet jacks is required.
  • Often requires feeling of products perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature and/or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Repetitive motions are required which involve substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time position work 5 days a week, which could include weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Expected Hours of Work: Will vary by assignment and need of the facility.
Travel
Local travel is required.
Required Education and Experience
  1. Journeyman Electrician License
  2. The ability to speak, read, understand and follow directions with or without reasonable accommodations is required.
  3. Driver's license and good driving record required with reliable transportation to and from the work site.
