The Senior Associate, Credit Risk supports the ongoing monitoring and analysis of Santander's Auto Loan Servicing portfolio. They are responsible for delivering actionable credit risk insights across key servicing functions, including collections, delinquency management, recoveries, and portfolio performance. Leveraging strong credit risk expertise, advanced analytical capabilities, and business acumen, the Senior Associate helps enhance portfolio oversight, identify emerging trends, and drive continuous improvement across servicing operations.
Position Summary
  • Analyze and monitor credit performance across Santander's Auto Loan Servicing portfolio, including delinquency trends, roll rates, cure rates, recovery performance, and loss metrics.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad hoc credit risk reporting used by Credit Risk leadership to monitor portfolio performance and emerging risks.
  • Utilize advanced SQL to extract, analyze, and validate large datasets, translating complex information into clear, actionable business recommendations.
  • Identify, investigate, and communicate portfolio trends, opportunities, and emerging risk issues that may impact servicing strategies or portfolio performance.
  • Create dashboards, presentations, and management reporting that tell a clear story and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with servicing, collections, analytics, and risk stakeholders to understand business challenges and provide analytical support for strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal policies, risk governance standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Support risk assessments, control activities, and monitoring processes that strengthen portfolio oversight and risk management practices.
  • Present findings and recommendations to Credit Risk leadership and business partners in a concise and effective manner.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for portfolio analytics, servicing risk trends, and credit risk reporting methodologies.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education - Required.

Professional Experience
  • 9+ years of Analytical Risk Management, Credit Risk, or Internal Audit experience - Required.
  • 9+ years of Financial Services or Financial Industry experience - Required.
  • Demonstrated experience using SQL to write complex queries from scratch for data extraction, analysis, reporting, and risk management activities - Required.
  • 9+ years of Consulting experience - Preferred.

Languages
