As a Ride Mechanic, your role will be to mechanically maintain park rides and mechanical equipment. You'll also assist by fueling the train and vehicles as needed.Why Work at Worlds of Fun?Free park admissionTeam member ride nights and special eventsScheduling that works with youOn‑the‑job paid training providedUniforms providedGain unique mechanic experienceWhat You'll DoThrough walking and climbing along all areas of the park's rides, inspects all mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aspects through visual and auditory observations to ensure safe and proper operation. Also inspects the structures of all steel coasters. Communicates concerns to supervisor and/or, using own judgment, makes necessary repairs. Logs and documents all safety checks and repairs.From blueprints, drawings, models or verbal instructions, performs general mechanical work using a variety of hand and power tools and standard measuring instruments. Makes standard shop computations relating to dimension of work.Selects materials necessary for the work.Properly lubricates all park rides.Fuels vehicles, a train and propane tanks.Responds to the requests of the Mechanical Lead, Foreman or General Foreman and the Manager of Ride Maintenance as assigned.Provides guest service according to Worlds of Fun standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Worlds of Fun Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.Meets Worlds if Fun's attendance requirements as outlined in Enchanted Parks' attendance policies.Adheres to Enchanted Parks' Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.Other duties may be assigned.What We're Looking ForMinimum age: 21High School Diploma or GED2-4 Years Related Experience Commercial Mechanical experience. Small engine, hydraulics, pneumatics and/or welding helpful.Must have Valid Drivers License to operate company vehicles Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate not only with senior management but also with seasonal employees in resolving problems. Communicates with individuals both inside and outside the company.Basic analytical skills necessary to organize work load to establish priorities.Ability to become familiar with and use fall protection equipment.Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds in the repair or installation of equipment.Ability to read materials (including blueprints and drawings) to interpret and analyze content.Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 75% of work activities.Walking and standing on concrete and asphalt for extended periods of time.Possible exposure to gasoline and other petroleum products.Possible exposure to fiberglass dust, welding materials, oxygen, acetylene, propane, cleaning solvents, and paint fumes.Average sense of touch needed to determine hot from cold and hard from soft.
