Organization:
ABSMC-Alta Bates Summit Med Center
Position Overview:
Anticipated Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with as-needed weekends (schedule is subject to change)
Dual Role/Floating: Technicians at this site have a unique responsibility, rotating between performing scans at the center and operating the Mobile Mammography Van.
Lead Responsibilities: In addition to clinical duties, this role serves as a lead, providing oversight, coordinating workflows, and acting as a primary point of contact for the imaging team at this location.
Sign-on Bonus: Up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus, based on Sutter Health policy and available to external applicants.
Lead technologist duties directly involves a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation and/or other forms of energy to provide diagnostic images. This role is expected to have direct patient care possibility 50% of total hours worked. Maintains competency in all areas of licensure for self and all supervised staff. Provides leadership for technical and support staff within assigned areas of responsibility. Responsible for providing and maintaining adequate coverage and coordination of activities within assigned areas of responsibility. Provides support and training assistance to all assigned staff, maintains all equipment and equipment certifications, including ACR for Mammography and Ultrasound. General guidance and direction provided by the Operations Manager, Radiologists, and Director
The position requires acquisition of high quality images, produce and maintain data for quality management, excellent customer service skills and the exercise of mature and independent judgment.
Job Description:
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • Successful completion of AMA Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • OR Other: Completion of mammography training.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
  • ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists
  • OR CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist
  • OR RHM-Radiology Mammography
  • OR BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • OR ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
  • 3-5 years Minimum of 5 years as a staff technologist in area of certifications.
  • Competent in professional, technical and leadership skills as determined to be adequate by the Manager/Director.
  • At least two years experience as a Sr. technologist in area of certifications.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Ability to perform examinations of excellent technical quality in an efficient manner.
  • Knowledge of Mammography Instrumentation operation and quality control procedures is necessary.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge of departmental computer systems operations is essential (EPIC programs, including Radiant, PACS).

Pay Range is $63.30 to $79.42 / hour. Mammography Technologist, Lead (12%) Pay Range is $70.89 to $88.95 / hour.
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health's comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
