Job description

Job Title: OpenShift Platform Engineer
Location: Alpharetta, GA (Hybrid - Partially Onsite)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Platform Engineer to support, manage, and enhance enterprise-grade Red Hat OpenShift environments. This role focuses on platform stability, security, automation, and supporting application teams across on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters (on-prem / cloud)
  • Perform cluster lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, scaling, and monitoring
  • Troubleshoot issues related to containers, nodes, networking, and storage
  • Support application onboarding and CI/CD integration with OpenShift
  • Implement and maintain RBAC, security policies, and compliance controls
  • Automate platform operations using Ansible, GitOps, or scripting
  • Monitor performance and availability; ensure SLA adherence
  • Participate in production support, on-call rotation, and incident resolution
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams
  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Containers (Docker / CRI-O)
    • Kubernetes networking (Services, Ingress, Routes)
    • Persistent storage (CSI, PV/PVC)
  • Experience with Linux system administration
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • OpenShift CLI (oc)
    • YAML manifests
    • Helm or Operators
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, EFK)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation
Nice to Have:
  • Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, DO280, EX280)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of service mesh, API gateways, authentication systems
  • GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Flux)
  • Experience in SRE or Managed Services environments
