What are RHCs (Rural Health Clinics)?

Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) are healthcare facilities certified by Medicare and Medicaid to provide primary care services in underserved rural areas. RHCs aim to increase access to healthcare by employing a team-based approach, often utilizing nurse practitioners and physician assistants alongside physicians. They must meet specific federal requirements, including offering outpatient primary care and basic laboratory services. RHCs play a vital role in improving healthcare delivery and reducing disparities in rural communities.

What are some typical challenges faced by Remote Healthcare Coordinators (RHCs) when managing patient care across different locations?

Remote Healthcare Coordinators often encounter challenges such as coordinating care among geographically dispersed patients and providers, managing communication across time zones, and ensuring timely follow-ups. They must stay organized and utilize digital health tools to track patient progress and maintain accurate records. Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and adapting to evolving telehealth technologies are also key aspects of the role. Proactive communication and strong problem-solving skills help RHCs overcome these challenges and provide high-quality care remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Administrator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Administrator, you need a solid background in healthcare administration, regulatory compliance, and financial management, often supported by a degree in healthcare administration or a related field. Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid regulations, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and RHC-specific billing processes is crucial. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills help foster effective teams and navigate the unique challenges of rural healthcare. These skills ensure regulatory compliance, efficient clinic operations, and improved patient outcomes in underserved communities.

What is the difference between Rhc vs Registered Nurse?

AspectRhcRegistered Nurse
CredentialsRHC certification, often a specialized credential in home health or rural healthState nursing license, BSN or ADN, and optional certifications
Work EnvironmentPrimarily in home health, rural clinics, or community settingsHospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health centers
Employer & Industry UsageUsed in healthcare organizations focusing on rural or home-based careWidely used across all healthcare settings

The main difference between Rhc and Registered Nurse is that Rhc refers to a specialized certification for healthcare providers working in rural or home health settings, whereas Registered Nurse is a broader licensure required for nurses working in various healthcare environments. Rhc focuses on community and home-based care, while Registered Nurses have a wider scope of practice across multiple healthcare settings.

Job description

ABOUT RHC

Rod Heisler Construction is a trusted leader in commercial and custom residential construction across the San Francisco Bay Area. From high-profile commercial interiors and mixed-use developments to beautifully crafted custom homes, we bring a consistent commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and thoughtful problem-solving to every project.

Our team culture is as important to us as our portfolio. We operate with an open, collaborative spirit where every voice is heard and every contribution matters — while maintaining the focused, tight-knit environment that lets us do our best work.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're adding an experienced Site Superintendent / Project Supervisor to lead field operations on residential and commercial projects in San Francisco. This is a well-paced opportunity — not a scramble — designed to set the right person up for long-term success with RHC.

You'll own the job site: leading crews, keeping projects on schedule, holding the line on quality, and being the go-to person on the ground — from subs to inspectors. If you know San Francisco construction inside and out and take pride in running a clean, efficient, safe site, we'd love to talk.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead all onsite construction activities and manage day-to-day field operations from start to punch-list.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors — union and non-union — ensuring compliance with project scope, timelines, and RHC standards.
  • Own the project schedule: track daily progress, anticipate obstacles, and keep the PM team informed.
  • Ensure all work meets local codes and RHC's quality expectations; coordinate inspections and walkthroughs.
  • Enforce site safety practices in strict accordance with OSHA standards and company policy.
  • Proactively resolve onsite conflicts, logistics challenges, and workflow delays.
  • Conduct onsite meetings with internal teams, trade partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to keep everyone aligned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years in a Site Superintendent, Project Supervisor, or equivalent field leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and labor on active commercial or residential job sites.
  • Hands-on experience delivering projects in San Francisco — you know the neighborhoods, the logistics, and the pace.
  • Deep familiarity with SF building codes, permitting processes, and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and project schedules.
  • Strong communicator with the leadership presence to keep crews focused and stakeholders informed.
  • Unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and accountability.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with mixed-use or residential-over-commercial projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Track record on tight urban job sites in San Francisco specifically.
  • Established relationships with Bay Area trade partners and inspectors.

WHY RHC

  • Work on a diverse mix of commercial and custom residential projects across the Bay Area.
  • Join a respected firm with a reputation for doing things right — not just fast.
  • A collaborative culture where field leadership is genuinely valued.
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
