Job description

Project Accounting Specialist
Robert G. Campbell & Associates (RGC&A) is seeking a Project Accounting Specialist to join our growing accounting team. RGC-A is proud to partner with ICE USA, its transportation-focused engineering and consulting services and solutions platform holding company. Responsibilities
  • Assess current project set-up process and develop standard operating procedures to standardize project set-up and maintenance; ability to work with accounting and project managers during the project set-up process.
  • Develop invoicing procedure that efficiently processes client invoices, including progress billing, time-and-materials, and lump sum contracts.
  • Partner with project managers and accounting staff to validate billable costs, contract terms, and billing schedules; track project costs (labor, materials, subcontractors) to ensure alignment with billing and revenue recognition.
  • Develop process to manage WIP schedules and support revenue recognition in accordance with contract terms.
  • Partner with Project Managers and other Management staff to create monthly cost reports, billing forecasts, variance analyses and other productivity reports as needed.
  • Perform the billing and project accounting functions as necessary.
  • Maintain system configurations and security roles.
  • Support day-to-day accounting activities, and other accounting duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications
  • Experience with project accounting, general ledger, billing, accounts payable
  • Experience with FAR compliance is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace.
  • Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification desired.
  • Experience with a comprehensive accounting system required - Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint experience is a plus.

Physical and Environmental Requirements
This position predominantly involves up to 8 hours per day at a computer workstation, with occasional standing and walking. The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials, typically not exceeding 20 pounds. The office environment is indoors, characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions. Employees must have the ability to visually discern and differentiate details and colors of objects, and proficiency in recognizing sound, tone, and pitch. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The role demands adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow, as well as the capacity to sit for extended periods.
Expected Hours of Work
The RGC&A offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing an unpaid hour for lunch daily.
