Job description

We are a federal IT company on a mission to make customer experience (CX) the center of every government solution. Technology is our Passion. People are our Purpose. We know tech, but we love people. NuAxis is home to thinkers and feelers, engineers and artists. We work hard and support each other along the way. Teamwork is more than just a buzzword for us, it's a state of mind. We believe happy employees do amazing work, so join our team NOW! We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Senior AV Engineer for a Full-Time position. Job Summary: The Senior AV Engineer keeps WMATA's mission-critical AV environments running flawlessly - supporting the RGB Spectrum video wall system and delivering comprehensive audio-visual support for critical operations centers and enterprise AV environments across WMATA facilities. You'll own AV system design, monitoring, lifecycle management, and routine health assessments that keep these systems highly available, reliable, and always ready for operations. You'll provide technical leadership across enterprise audio-visual systems, including Crestron-controlled environments, conference room collaboration platforms, and video wall infrastructure. This is hands-on, high-impact work: supporting, integrating, and modernizing AV technologies, spotting aging and end-of-life systems before they fail, and recommending what to upgrade next. You'll also ensure AV solutions integrate seamlessly with enterprise IT infrastructure and keep program leadership and stakeholders in the loop in plain language. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting and modifying enterprise audio-visual control systems, including Crestron-controlled environments, within mission-critical settings such as command centers, video wall systems, and executive AV environments - but if you've done this work and can point to it, we want to hear from you, even if you don't match every line below. Key Responsibilities: * Provide daily support for the RGB Spectrum video wall system and associated AV control systems.
* Recommend and implement design revisions for video wall layouts and AV control configurations.
* Address IT system maintenance and support for video walls, conference room AV systems, and operations center environments.
* Monitor AV devices across the WMATA environment to assess system health, performance, and reliability.
* Identify end-of-life (EOL) AV technologies and recommend modernization or replacement strategies.
* Design and implement custom AV solutions using industry-standard technologies including Crestron, AMX, Extron, and similar platforms.
* Program and configure Crestron control systems and support integration of AV technologies with enterprise IT infrastructure.
* Coordinate device servicing, preventative maintenance, and proactive upgrades for AV systems.
* Collaborate with Service Desk Management and infrastructure teams to establish response policies and AV support best practices.
* Communicate with senior leadership and key stakeholders regarding AV initiatives, system upgrades, and operational needs.
* Perform regular system health checks and provide periodic reports outlining system performance and improvement opportunities.
* Maintain AV documentation including system diagrams, configuration documentation, and lifecycle tracking.
* Support a full range of audio-visual equipment and control systems beyond Crestron, ensuring comprehensive coverage and integration across WMATA's AV environment.
Qualifications: Required Qualifications: * Experience supporting Crestron-controlled AV environments.
* Experience with Crestron programming and configuration of AV control systems.
* Experience integrating AV technologies with enterprise IT infrastructure and collaboration platforms.
* Experience supporting enterprise AV systems including conference rooms, control systems, and collaboration technologies.
* Experience troubleshooting AV control systems, video distribution, and integrated AV environments.
* Knowledge of AV system architecture, configuration, and maintenance.
* Ability to perform system diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and operational reporting.
* Some supervisory, team lead, or mentoring experience - e.g., guiding junior technicians or coordinating AV support staff.
* Ability to communicate technical solutions and system updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
* Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications: * Experience supporting RGB Spectrum video wall systems or similar enterprise video wall platforms.
* Experience with Crestron Fusion and Crestron Toolbox.
* Experience with AMX, Extron, or other AV control platforms.
* Experience supporting critical operations center environments.
* AVIXA certifications (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) or similar AV industry certifications.
* Experience supporting large enterprise or government AV environments Does this opportunity sound like a fit for you? If so, join our talent community and click to apply now!!
