Job Summary
As the industry's most respected video processing and switching company, RGB Spectrum looks for the world's best and brightest engineers. In this highly visible role, you will play a key part in a very dynamic and focused team as we create and roll out new products and features to enhance our powerful video processing and delivery system. You will be responsible for defining and implementing the parts of our system that interact directly with the various classes of external interfaces. This is a pivotal part of this project: defining, implementing, and bringing to market the industry-leading video switching and processing architecture of our next-generation Control Room devices.
Responsibilities
Will include, but are not limited to:
  • Plan, develop and manage to delivery system management and external interface features for managing and controlling all aspects of inter-dependent products and features.
  • Drive the design and implementation of the software and management interfaces.
  • Analyze requirements and design solutions.
  • Participate in the definition of the requirements.
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Train and mentor software engineering team members.
  • Coordinate subcontractors working on related projects.
  • Analyze system requirements and develop management and interface applications with lead software designers and Product Marketing Managers.
  • Prioritize, schedule, track, and coordinate the development, verification, and release of your code with other hardware & software engineers and program managers.
  • Verify software functionality both in your own test environment as well as in conjunction with the rest of the project team and system test engineers.
  • Review designs and implementation.
  • Effectively communicate ideas, objectives, and plans both internally and outside the Software team.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by manager.

Job Requirements, Education and Training
  • Strong design and coding skills essential. Java, HTML5.
  • Designing and implementing a distributed system management layer.
  • Experience with WebSockets and RESTful API.
  • Cross-platform development and deployment (Windows and Linux) highly desired.
  • Experience with AI-based development, analysis, and test tools.
  • Experience with Layer 2 and/or Layer 3 technologies like Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6 is a strong advantage.
  • The ideal candidate has a strong software and systems background with some background (S/W or H/W) in the Network Switching and Video Switching industry.
  • Good planning, organizational, and time management skills. Able to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong (5+ years) hands-on experience in Java and system management interfaces.
  • Portfolio of design projects.
  • Proven track record delivering projects from conception to introduction and deployment.
  • Proven track record designing and implementing a distributed User Interface - both GUI and text-based.
  • Proven experience developing Rich Client GUI.
  • Strong proven experience in Object Oriented Design and Design Patterns.
  • Solid Experience in UML.
  • Computer Networking experience (highly desirable).
  • BS or MS degree in EE, CS, or Mathematics or equivalent.
