Job description

Alutiiq Information Management, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opening for an Engineering Technician V in San Diego, CA. The proposed technical effort is to aid in the build, test and fielding of RF Communications and network systems, to include shipboard navigation systems, narrowband and broadband SATCOM and HF/UHF/VHF radio terminals currently configured for US Navy fielded systems. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to work with schematics, engineering drawings, written or verbal instructions to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies with shipboard/shore-based radio and baseband systems.

Perform troubleshooting/configuration of connected IP system components, to include routers, switches, terminal computers, and related cryptographic units for shipboard operations. Perform equipment mounting and cable routing within enclosed shelters/racks in both a production and RDTE environment. Devise alternatives when design drawings are in conflict with component mounting realization.

Build ethernet, RF, fiber and MIL-SPEC multi-pin connectors. Review engineering drawings for system component installation efforts. Perform periodic inventory to include locating and identifying equipment, reconciliation of equipment discrepancies within inventory.

Assist in packing and unpacking of electronic equipment for shipping and the accounting of received equipment. Understand and perform system operation/power up/power down of facility power systems, including IP Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), transformers, and power panels. Perform power down/power up of environmental systems, include HVAC components required for facility operations.

Lead a team of technicians for system installations. 75% travel.
