Business Development Internship - Fall 2026US East Office (Jacksonville, FL)

Who We're Looking For

The Business Development Intern is responsible for supporting the Marketing team in generating new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers. Your primary function is to nurture marketing leads through email and other channels, as well as to maintain all data accurately in CRM (NetSuite). You will join a team of marketing professionals focused on transforming more Customers and changing more lives. The intern will be reporting to the Jacksonville, FL office.

  • Duration: 8/17/2026 - 12/11/2026
  • Hours: 20-25 hours/week
  • Pay: $20 per hour

What You'll Do:

Demand Generation & Prospecting
  • Support sales revenue goals by executing demand generation campaigns across multiple outreach channels
  • Research and identify potential customers by analyzing target industries, company profiles, and key decision-makers to build qualified prospect lists
  • Initiate outreach to prospective customers through email, phone, and LinkedIn, crafting personalized messaging that speaks to their specific business challenges
  • Support inbound and outbound lead generation efforts to determine fit against RF-SMART's ideal customer profile (ICP)
  • Assist in developing outreach sequences and cadences that improve response rates and move prospects through the funnel
Lead Nurturing & Relationship Building
  • Build trusted relationships with prospective customers through consistent, thoughtful communication across the full nurture cycle
  • Monitor prospect engagement signals — email opens, content downloads, website activity — and use those insights to time and tailor follow-up outreach
  • Support the team in moving marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) toward sales-qualified leads (SQLs) through strategic touchpoints
  • Learn and apply sales strategies and techniques to better understand prospect pain points and position RF-SMART's value effectively
CRM & Data Management
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all prospect interactions, activities, and pipeline status within CRM
  • Ensure data integrity across contact records, account information, and lead statuses to support reliable reporting
  • Assist in identifying and cleaning duplicate, outdated, or incomplete records to improve overall database quality
Collaboration & Professional Development
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Sales teams to align outreach efforts with active campaigns and messaging initiatives
  • Participate in team meetings, sales calls, and training sessions to deepen your understanding of the full sales cycle
  • Contribute ideas and feedback on prospecting strategies, messaging, and tools as you develop your skills

What You Bring:

  • Strong written communication skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and phone skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Creative, energetic, and highly organized with strong time management skills
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program and classified as a Junior or Senior by credit hours
