*At this time, we are only accepting applications from candidates who are local to the Oregon Area*
Role Description
The Field Engineer works closely with the local Project Manager and account teams to assist in all aspects of deploying and supporting client hardware and related systems in supporting client's network. Candidate must have the ability to work independently to troubleshoot network problems, perform radio frequency (RF) coverage tests, and gather survey data.
Responsibilities:
*We will provide you with a rental car and you'll be driving throughout Oregon to conduct site surveys and visit client locations.
Remediate network gear in buildings and at homes that will require a RF investigation and or failed gear.
Troubleshoot radios out in the field using supplied test equipment.
Update a database containing the status of devices
Participate with the customer in resolving network problems
Maintain accurate records of work performed and status of Network Devices configured and/or troubles
Take direction from field engineering management, lead field engineers, and project management to maintain productivity goals.
Complete reports, update databases, and attend meetings as needed and provide status of work performed.
Drive to various field network locations requiring onsite troubleshooting.
Maintain and safeguard client laptop, test equipment, access badges, keys, and other assets from damage and/or loss.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
Strong background and experience with RF and wireless technologies.
A strong understanding of RF and propagation theory as well as experience with RF test equipment and tools such as spectrum analyzers, power meters, sweep testers and drive test software.
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot various electronic and RF systems.
Candidate must have strong PC skills with software such as, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Candidate must have strong verbal, written, and organizational skills; the ability to directly interface with customers and vendors; maintain a professional appearance; and work independently.
Required Skills
3+ years of professional experience in the field
Analytical problem-solving skills
Work independently and multi-task with minimum supervision
Team player
Must possess a valid driving license
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience and knowledge of gas, water and electric utility meter reading and related technologies
Experience with GIS mapping software such as MapInfo
Experience with GPS and coordinate data
Experience with RF propagation software
