Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support enterprise SAP data initiatives across ECC and S/4HANA environments. This role focuses on reviewing and validating ABAP technical specifications, reverse-engineering complex custom Z-tables, and translating SAP business logic into clear, consumable technical documentation. This is a hands-on, onsite role ideal for senior SAP professionals who enjoy deep technical ownership and close collaboration with functional and data engineering teams This role is critical to ensuring SAP data accuracy, integrity, and business logic alignment before data flows into enterprise data lake and analytics platforms. As the SAP technical authority, you will validate extraction logic, decode complex custom developments, and eliminate ambiguity for downstream data engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and validate ABAP technical specifications across ECC and S/4HANA environments
  • Analyze and reverse-engineer custom Z-tables, joins, filters, and delta logic
  • Collaborate with functional teams to understand SAP business processes (FI, MM, SD, etc.)
  • Translate SAP business logic into clear technical documentation for data engineers
  • Document data extraction logic, field mappings, transformations, and business rules
  • Act as the SAP technical authority ensuring data accuracy and consistency
  • Support SAP data extraction via ODATA, RFCs, BAPIs, and related interfaces
