Overview: The General Manager of Reverie 73 is the driving force behind creating an elevated, immersive cannabis retail experience that reflects the brand's commitment to quality, community, and intentional living. As a leader, the General Manager is responsible for building and developing high-performing teams, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining full compliance within New York State's regulated cannabis market. This role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution-overseeing daily operations, cultivating meaningful community relationships, and managing financial performance to drive sustainable growth.
The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of retail operations. Not required but a positive would include cannabis industry knowledge from cultivation through retail. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality-driven service, and the ability to translate brand values into every aspect of the customer and employee experience. Key ObjectivesOperational Excellence & Team Leadership- Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing dispensary team through thoughtful hiring, structured training, and ongoing development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and elevated service that reflects Reverie 73's brand experience.
- Ensure consistent execution of operational standards, policies, and procedures across all shifts and team members.
- Deliver an exceptional customer journey through well-trained staff, curated product knowledge, and a welcoming environment.
Customer Experience & Brand Alignment- Champion a premium, education-forward retail experience that aligns with Reverie 73's identity and values.
- Ensure all customer interactions reflect authenticity, inclusivity, and a deep understanding of cannabis products and lifestyle applications.
- Support the Product Purchasing Manager with overall inventory management and compliant operations.
- Act as a brand ambassador in the local community, building strong relationships and driving meaningful engagement.
Compliance & Regulatory Leadership- Maintain strict adherence to all New York State cannabis regulations, including OCM and METRC requirements.
- Lead all compliance-related activities, including inventory controls, audits, and state inspections.
- Ensure all staff are trained and consistently executing safety, security, and compliance protocols.
- Serve as one of the primary points of contact with regulatory agencies, fostering positive and professional relationships.
Financial Performance & Business Growth- Own and manage the dispensary's financial performance, including P&L oversight and KPI tracking.
- Analyze sales data and operational metrics to identify opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Drive revenue growth through operational efficiency, product optimization, and elevated customer engagement.
Community Engagement & Culture Building- Lead and execute community outreach initiatives that position Reverie 73 as a trusted and responsible cannabis retailer.
- Create an inclusive, safe, and motivating environment for both employees and customers.
- Promote education, wellness, and responsible consumption through in-store and community-facing initiatives.
- Uphold and embody the brand's ethos-balancing sophistication with approachability, and innovation with authenticity.
Requirements- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to pass an extensive background check.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on call as needed.
- Must be able to work a consistent 5-day schedule including Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.
- Required travel to Massachusetts during the first quarter of employment for onboarding training to gain hands-on experience with existing Reverie 73 dispensary operations. Additional travel may be required once operations commence.
