Job description

Futures Recovery Healthcare is a state-licensed, Joint Commission accredited behavioral healthcare provider located in Tequesta, Florida of Palm Beach County. At Futures, we are committed to treating the whole person, not just the behaviors. We have a holistic approach that is patient-centered. Our medical, clinical, behavioral health technicians, admissions, outreach, executive, culinary, alumni, and intake teams all work together to meet a patient where they are and allow them to heal and recover in a safe and nurturing environment, which is essential for whole healing and life-long mental wellness.

The Family Therapist provides a strong therapeutic relationship to the family, coordinating the course of treatment within the multidisciplinary treatment team. The Family Therapist will provide support to the family, integrating them in the treatment process and collaboratively work with the Primary Therapist. The family therapist will provide education, process, continuing care and support.


Duties and Competencies:

  • Will hold a caseload of 7-8 families.
  • Facilitate family sessions and group therapy in accordance with license requirements, AHCA, TJC standards and Futures Recovery Healthcare policies.
  • Will function as primary contact and support for family system and communicate with the referent, if/when appropriate.
  • Respond to off hour issues/concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Effectively communicates relevant clinical information to the clinical team and collaborate with the primary therapist and interdisciplinary team.
  • Actively participates in treatment team meetings, presenting family case assessment.
  • Document the assessment, progress and/or regression of the patient in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Shows respect for the patient/family frame of reference, and for individual differences within the mental health population.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Systems.
  • Demonstrates ability to respond to feedback and supervision from supervisor and peers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of basic diagnostic criteria for mental health, substance use, suicide risk/self-harm and major psychiatric disorders.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of mental illness as it affects persons from diverse backgrounds; is sensitive to different cultural, ethnic, racial, socio-economic, and religious and gender values as they may affect recovery.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity in working with physically and mentally disabled within the larger treatment population.
  • Capability to fulfill "on-call" assignment as identified by needs of the business.
  • Adheres to Futures Recovery Healthcare, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries, attendance, professionalism, and ethical behavior with patients, families, and other professionals.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with Title 42 CFR, Part 2 and HIPAA and Futures Recovery Healthcare Policies.
  • Perform other duties assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Masterโ€™s Degree from an accredited school in Behavioral Sciences, Counseling, or related Human Services.
  • Experience working in co-occurring setting with Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment.
  • Licensed Professional or Doctorate (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, Ph.D. or Psy.D).
  • Must possess skills in communication proficiency, ethical conduct, personal effectiveness/credibility, problem solving/analysis, thoroughness, stress management/composure and time management.
  • Must have knowledge in using standard office equipment and Microsoft Office
