Job description

What you'll be doing:

This is a 1099 contract position with a schedule of Mondays 4:30pm-5:50pm, Thursdays 4:30pm-5:50pm and Saturdays 9am-10:10am (can be flexible if unable to work one of these days). Working with adults at our Eating Recovery Center residential facility in Chicago, IL.

The Yoga Instructor facilitates yoga groups during scheduled programming times in accordance with patients' physical, social, and emotional needs.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Plans and facilitates yoga group lessons to support patients in a mental healthcare setting
  • Teaches yoga aligned with Health At Every Size (HAES) principles
  • Interacts with patients in a trauma-informed manner
  • Manages patient sign in sheet for each group
  • Reports any concerns to clinical leadership

Must haves:

  • Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance (required)
  • Knowledge of trauma informed care principles (required)
  • At least 200 hours of yoga teacher training (required)
  • Experience teaching yoga to adolescents and adults (required)

Bonus qualities:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • Experience teaching yoga in a mental healthcare setting (preferred)
