Job description

As a key member of our Revenue Management team, the Inventory Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining inventory integrity, optimizing reservations systems, and supporting strategic decision-making to ensure the highest levels of operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

As the Inventory Specialist, your primary focus is on supporting group housing functions, system coordination, reporting accuracy, and inventory optimization across all business segments. This critical role partners closely with Sales, Events, and Revenue teams to ensure consistent data integrity, proactive forecasting, and optimal availability. From managing group room blocks to generating business insights, the Inventory Specialist is instrumental in driving revenue strategy and delivering exceptional service experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Group Block Management: Build, maintain, and modify group room blocks in MARSHA and PMS, including routing, packages, and contracted rates.
  • System Integrity: Ensure reservation and inventory alignment between CI/TY, MARSHA, PMS, and OneYieldvs2; clear queues and correct discrepancies.
  • Data Accuracy & Audits: Monitor system data for accuracy including VM/OOI status, NPC/SPE dates, RSA sell dates, and audit EPIC scorecard updates.
  • Rooming List Coordination: Process, validate, and maintain rooming lists, cover sheets, and group resumes with input from Event and Sales Managers.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly reports using CI/TY, MRDW, Excel, STR, and OneYieldvs2; assist with six-month projections and weekly SCRUB packets.
  • Revenue Strategy Support: Assist the Revenue Manager with premium room pricing, special event date validation, and segment-level performance analysis.
  • System Support & Maintenance: Update HPP pricing, MarRFP annual business transient rates, and clean up market codes via MCAT.
  • Group & Transient Oversight: Track pickup, monitor cut-off dates, validate room projections in CI/TY, and support business transient billing and direct billing processes.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Serve as the point of contact for Sales, Event Managers, Express Meeting Managers, and Reservation teams regarding inventory and system accuracy.
  • Special Projects: Participate in inventory-related projects, strategy meetings, and assist in reservation system support as needed.
  • Guest Service Excellence: Uphold the Marriott standard in every interaction, offering responsive, knowledgeable service and supporting a seamless guest experience.
