Job Summary Salary Information This is a BART Police Management Association (BPMA) represented position. Salary: $11,350 (Step 1) / monthly to $13,171 (Step 4) / monthly Note: The starting salary will be at Step 1. Current Assignment The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to serve as a Revenue Protection Supervisor within the BART Police Department. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding District revenue, overseeing the secure collection and transportation of cash assets, and ensuring the safety of personnel engaged in cash handling operations throughout the BART system. The Revenue Protection Supervisor leads and supervises Revenue Protection Guards responsible for protecting District cash handling operations at stations, the Cash Handling Building, and during transport activities.

The incumbent is responsible for operational planning, personnel management, policy implementation, incident response, training coordination, and maintaining strong partnerships with Treasury, Operations, and Police Department leadership. The ideal candidate is a decisive and collaborative leader who combines strong supervisory skills with operational expertise in security, protective services, cash handling operations, or revenue protection environments. They possess excellent judgment, remain calm under pressure, and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, accountability, and service.

The most qualified candidates for this position will have highly developed competencies in the following areas, which will be reinforced with related work experience and will be clearly articulated during the selection process: Leadership & Supervision - Leading, coaching, and developing staff while managing schedules, staffing, and operational performance. Operational Planning & Coordination - Organizing and directing revenue protection operations while balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Examples of Duties Plans, organizes, and supervises Revenue Protection Guards responsible for protecting District cash and the Treasury personnel who transport, handle, collect and stock the cash. Reviews and evaluates the performance of Revenue Protection staff and administers and documents disciplinary actions as required; approves leave requests and adjusts schedules to ensure adequate coverage

Advises Revenue Protection Guards on methods and procedures of revenue protection and implements changes to operating procedures as necessary. Ensures all rules, policies, regulations, orders, and laws applicable to the Revenue Protection group are followed and works with Police Department command staff to address major issues. Conducts first-line investigations of a various types of incidents and involves other Police Department and/or District staff as needed.

Serves as liaison for the Police Department with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies, including providing for all needed coordination with the Treasury Department. Coordinates with training staff to provide appropriate training and development for subordinates. Handles and responds to inquiries and complaints from the community and/or other District departments.

Performs related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications EITHER Experience: Current employment and a minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Revenue Protection Guard with the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District. OR Education: Possession of a high school diploma, GED or recognized equivalent.

Experience: The equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in security and protective services, which included at least two (2) years of lead experience. Other Requirements: Must have Certification in Firearms and Arrest Training. Must be able to pass a background investigation, including psychiatric examination, fingerprinting and polygraph.

Must possess physical strength and ability to subdue and apprehend persons attacking the treasury crew or vehicles. Must be at least 21 years old at appointment. Must pass an 832 Penal Code (arrest/control) and firearms course, as well as qualify every six months at Department range programs.

Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of: Principles, practices, techniques, and equipment of revenue collection and protection services and activities. Principles and practices of supervision, including work assignment, review, training, and motivation.
