Job description

What You Can Expect

This is a hands-on technical leadership role at the center of how Zoom gets found, understood, and surfaced across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered discovery platforms. You will own the technical SEO foundation across a complex, multi-platform web ecosystem spanning Optimizely CMS, WordPress, custom web applications, and modern frontend frameworks, translating search strategy into scalable production solutions. Working closely with SEO and Website Engineering leadership, you will drive high-impact implementations, build reusable SEO capabilities and automation, and establish the engineering standards that keep Zoom's digital presence ahead of the curve. Your work connects directly to organic visibility, pipeline, and revenue, and your fingerprints will be on the architecture decisions that shape how Zoom shows up across Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and the next generation of agentic web experiences.

About the Team

You will be part of Zoom's Website Engineering team within the Online Business organization, a cross-functional group of web engineers, CMS specialists, SEO and AEO experts, and performance engineers who build and scale the technical foundation powering Zoom's global web presence. The team collaborates closely with Marketing, Product, Design, Content, and Localization to deliver fast, accessible, and AI-ready digital experiences. Technical excellence, a bias toward automation, and engineering-by-design are at the core of how we operate.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical SEO roadmap and execution across Zoom's global web ecosystem, owning high-priority initiatives driven by SEO analysis, audits, crawl data, search performance data, server logs, technical root-cause analysis, and business priorities.

  • Translate SEO and AEO requirements into technical designs, development specifications, production implementations, and ongoing maintenance across Optimizely CMS, WordPress, custom web applications, APIs, and modern frontend frameworks, ensuring requirements are incorporated throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Own technical solutions for crawlability, indexability, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonicalization, redirects, URL architecture, metadata, structured data, internal linking, hreflang, JavaScript rendering, client-side rendering, server-side rendering, static generation, incremental rendering, and search-friendly application architecture.

  • Build and scale reusable SEO capabilities including centralized metadata services, automated sitemap generation, structured-data components, redirect services, internal-linking systems, and standardized SEO configurations that platforms can inherit without repeated manual intervention.

  • Drive Core Web Vitals and web performance improvements, including LCP, INP, CLS, JavaScript execution, rendering performance, image optimization, font loading, third-party scripts, caching, CDN configuration, API performance, and server response times.

  • Develop automated testing, monitoring, dashboards, CI/CD quality gates, proactive alerting, and validation scripts that detect technical SEO issues and prevent regressions from reaching production across broken links, metadata, canonicalization, structured data, redirects, sitemaps, indexability, robots directives, duplicate URLs, internal linking, accessibility, performance, and rendering.

  • Establish the technical foundation for AEO and AI search by implementing structured data, semantic HTML, machine-readable metadata, entity and product schemas, and machine-readable endpoints; evaluate emerging AI-search and agentic-web standards and translate them into practical engineering requirements.

  • Define and maintain technical SEO standards and governance across Optimizely, WordPress, and custom applications, serving as the technical authority for SEO implementation within Web Engineering through reference architectures, launch-readiness criteria, design reviews, and code reviews.

  • Partner with SEO, Content, Product Marketing, Web Engineering, Product, and senior stakeholders to translate search strategy and business priorities into scalable technical solutions, improve Zoom's discoverability and representation across traditional search engines and AI-powered discovery platforms, and connect technical SEO initiatives to measurable organic visibility, acquisition, pipeline, and revenue outcomes.

What We're Looking For
  • 8+ years of experience in technical SEO, web engineering, or a related discipline, with a demonstrated track record leading technical SEO initiatives across large-scale websites and web applications in a B2B SaaS or enterprise technology environment; ability to connect technical SEO work directly to measurable organic visibility, acquisition, pipeline, and revenue outcomes.

  • Deep expertise in technical SEO fundamentals: crawlability, indexation, rendering, canonicalization, redirects, URL architecture, XML sitemaps, robots directives, structured data, internal linking, hreflang, and JavaScript-based web applications; hands-on proficiency with JavaScript, PHP, HTML, and CSS to diagnose and implement technical SEO fixes directly in the codebase and CMS, not only through engineering handoffs.

  • Proven experience improving web performance and Core Web Vitals, including diagnosing issues related to JavaScript execution, rendering, caching, CDN configuration, images, third-party scripts, APIs, and server performance.

  • Experience building scalable SEO capabilities, automation, monitoring, and CI/CD quality gates across enterprise CMS platforms such as Optimizely and WordPress; comfortable going directly into the CMS or codebase to implement configurations, standardize templates, and deploy SEO capabilities across multiple sites and applications without requiring a dedicated engineering sprint for every change.

  • Strong understanding of structured data, Schema.org, JSON-LD, semantic HTML, and the technical foundations required for AEO and AI-powered search, with familiarity with emerging AI search platforms including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews.

  • Strong analytical skills using tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Semrush, Ahrefs, Sitebulb, analytics platforms, and application observability tools; experienced in analyzing server logs and crawl logs to identify crawl blocks, indexation gaps, rendering failures, and visibility issues across Google, AI search platforms, and LLM crawlers, and translating those findings into prioritized, actionable fixes.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence engineering architecture, establish technical standards, and partner effectively with SEO, Web Engineering, Product, Marketing, Content, and senior stakeholders.
