Job description

Join our Winning Team as a Strategic Revenue Manager.

Isn't it time you bragged about where you work? At CARFAX, we do every day. We pride ourselves on being mission-focused on helping to grow a brand built on accuracy and integrity. We care deeply about our products and our customers. We    ’re more than just a company: We help millions of consumers make more informed decisions every day. We know that our teammates are our most valuable asset, and we value a balanced life while tackling challenging projects in a fast-paced environment.

We are seeking a Strategic Revenue Manager to serve as the lead revenue strategist and primary business partner for our Independent Dealer business unit. This isn't just a "numbers" role—you will be a trusted advisor to the Business Unit Leader, acting as the connective tissue between financial data and go-to-market (GTM) execution.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who can translate complex revenue levers into actionable tactics. You will adopt the strategy for new product pricing, annual price adjustments, and retention initiatives, while proactively identifying opportunities to plug revenue leakage and scale our commercial operations.

At CARFAX, we believe in the power of teamwork and value in-person interactions so that we can collaborate and thrive together. This position will require 3 days in the Centreville, VA office, subject to change with future business needs.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Strategic Advisory: Act as the lead revenue partner to the Business Unit head, providing data-driven insights that influence long-term growth and health of a business unit.
  • Revenue Growth & Retention: Execute pricing frameworks for new product launches, manage the annual price increase cycle, and design strategies to improve customer lifetime value (LTV) and retention.
  • Ecommerce & Scalability: Lead core initiatives to build for scale, including standing up and optimizing our ecommerce pricing channel and automating legacy commercial processes.
  • Financial Mentorship: Upskill the organization’s financial acumen by teaching cross-functional teams how to interpret revenue data and apply it to their specific functions.
  • Leakage & Opportunity Identification: Autonomously hunt for "hidden" revenue opportunities. You will be expected to challenge the status quo by identifying value erosion and proposing corrective GTM tactics.
  • Data Translation: Transform raw data into compelling narratives and visual dashboards that drive executive decision-making.
  • Value Communication: Partner with cross-functional teams to scale product value communication including ROI reporting and performance insights delivered through customer success teams, CRM communications, and self-service channels.
What we’re looking for:
  • Experience: 8–10 years of experience in pricing, revenue management, or commercial finance.
  • Portfolio Management: Proven track record of supporting a business vertical or product line with at least $100M in annual revenue.
  • Strategic Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work independently, challenge senior leadership with data-backed insights, and navigate ambiguous business environments.
  • Technical Acumen: High proficiency in SQL, CRM systems (Salesforce), and advanced data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI).
  • Scale Mindset: Experience scaling pricing infrastructure—ideally within ecommerce or high-growth SaaS environments.
What’s in it for you:
  • Competitive compensation, benefits and generous time-off policies
  • 4-Day summer work weeks and a winter holiday break
  • 401(k) / DCPP matching
  • Annual bonus program
  • Casual, dog-friendly, and innovative office spaces
  • For a comprehensive list of benefits, please visit our website: https://jobs.jobvite.com/carfax/p/benefits

Don’t just take our word for it:
  • 10X Virginia Business Best Places to Work
  • 10X Washington Post Top Workplace
  • 9X Washingtonian Great Places to Work
  • 3X St. Louis Post-Dispatch Best Places to Work

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $101,900 - $214,700. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on a variety of factors, including geographic location, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
Carfax is committed to providing competitive compensation that reflects local market conditions and individual contributions. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for incentive compensation, long-term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package, where applicable.
