Interactive Strategies, a leading digital agency in Washington, DC, is seeking a skilled Web Optimization Manager to join our Data Insights team. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who has strong working command of both search optimization and analytics reporting and is ready to operate with a high degree of independence across both disciplines.

You will report to our Associate Director of Optimization and work closely with our Associate Director of Data and Analytics. This role is a strong fit for a well-rounded digital practitioner who wants to sharpen their skills across SEO and analytics while contributing meaningfully to a collaborative, client-focused team.

  • Contribute to LLM visibility and AI search initiatives as this discipline continues to evolve.
  • Complete competitive keyword gap analyses and map findings to actionable opportunities.
  • Collaborate with content, UX, and development teams to implement best practices and support overall site performance.

  • Pull, QA, and interpret performance data from GA4, Google Search Console, and Looker Studio.
  • Build and maintain dashboards from established templates and QA data sources and visualizations for accuracy.
  • Support quarterly performance reporting for select client accounts, independently managing smaller accounts.
  • Run site crawls using Screaming Frog or similar tools and document findings in structured formats for team review.
  • Conduct site audits using SEMrush and other advanced tools to identify and categorize common issues including indexing, canonicals, robots.txt, and sitemaps.
  • Populate structured outputs and checklists to support repeatable technical workflows.
  • Validate tracking consistency and data flow across platforms including GA4, paid media channels, and CRM systems.
  • Document tracking needs and gaps and support data quality checks using tools such as Google Tag Manager and Funnel.io or similar connectors.
  • Work across multiple clients simultaneously with strong attention to detail and clear communication.
  • Use AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to support workflows including content analysis, data cleanup, and reporting summaries, following defined processes.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience in SEO, with demonstrated ability to work independently across both on-page and technical optimization.
  • Strong working knowledge of GA4, Google Search Console, Looker Studio, Screaming Frog, and SEMrush or Ahrefs.
  • Experience building or duplicating dashboards and QA-ing data visualizations.
  • Solid understanding of GTM purpose and structure, with experience setting up or modifying tracking events.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel at an intermediate level for data organization and analysis.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress and Drupal.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, both in writing and in conversation.
  • Experience working across functions including content, design, development, and marketing.

Nice to Haves:

  • Familiarity with LLM visibility tools and AI search measurement.
  • Hands-on experience with paid media, social, or other digital marketing channels.
