As a Retrofit Technician, you will complete all listed repairs/corrections provided by engineering to take a vehicle from a non-saleable standpoint to becoming safely saleable. Any additional diagnostics and repairs may also be required.
Salary Overview:
The pay rate for this role starts at $24 per hour based on experience.
Hours:
The hours for this role are Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pm.
Retrofit Technician Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform basic to mild automotive repairs.
  • Remove and place any given part at any given time.
  • Diagnose vehicles as they come in.
  • Program modules within the vehicles using a computer.
  • Perform unspecified problems with a vehicle, knowing, or having an idea of how to correct it as well as the procedures taken.
  • Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service's DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.

Retrofit Technician Qualifications and Skills:
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Basic diagnostic skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Own a cell phone to communicate with clients and team members.
  • Mild to moderate understanding of how to use a computer for programming all modules within a vehicle.
  • Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Must have exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be a reliable team player.
  • Must have basic hand tools and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, picks, pliers, hammers, impacts, ratchets, and grinders.
  • Experience using battery chargers and maintainers.
  • Experience using special equipment (hoist, transmission jacks, cherry pickers).
  • Proper use of handling fluids.

Retrofit Technician Working Conditions and Physical Demands Include:
  • 45% of the time this job will be completed while standing.
  • 30% of the time this job will be completed while sitting.
  • 25% of the time this job will be completed while walking, lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, and being in cramped or confined spaces.
