Job description


This role provides administrative support for the organization's pension and retirement programs. Responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing pension-related transactions, and assisting employees and retirees with basic inquiries to ensure efficient and compliant plan administration. This role also provides additional administrative support to the corporate HR function, including assisting with reporting and other related tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
Maintains accurate and up to date pension records in support of core administrative processes. This includes entering and verifying data in pension and HR systems, managing employee information, processing benefit payments, beneficiary updates and other updates as required. (45%)
Serves as the primary contact for retirement plan participant inquiries, delivering support with a customer first approach, and functions as a liaison between the plan sponsor, recordkeeper, and participants to provide timely and accurate responses to inquiries and issues. (25%)
Supports recurring and ad hoc reporting for the corporate HR function, including safety, compensation, benefits, and other areas. Partners with the HR Technology team to develop, test, and implement report updates and system changes. (15%)
Maintains and supports pension plan system updates in collaboration with HR Technology, IT teams, and external vendors. (10%)
Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (5%)
Qualifications
This is a multi-level posting. Candidates may be considered for any of the posted levels, depending on their level of experience and depth of expertise.
Associates degree in accounting, business administration, finance, human resource management or related field; or equivalent related work experience. (Typically three years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associates degree.)
Two or more years of work experience in employee benefits with direct experience working on defined benefit and/or defined contribution plans for a Retirement Plan Administrator.
Five or more years of work experience in employee benefits with direct experience working on defined benefit and/or defined contribution plans for a Sr Retirement Plan Administrator.
Experience working in customer facing roles.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word, with the ability to extract, analyze, and cleanse large data sets from human resources information systems and reporting tools.
Effective interpersonal skills, a customer-service focus and the ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
