Kitchen Manager/Executive Chef

The Lodge at Historic Lewes  |  Culinary Services

Bring Your Passion for Food to a Community That Feels Like Home

The Lodge at Historic Lewes is looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager/Executive Chef to help lead our Culinary Services team. In this role, you won't just prepare great food — you'll help create meaningful, memorable dining experiences for the residents who call our community home. If you love mentoring a team, take pride in quality and consistency, and enjoy connecting with the people you serve, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As Kitchen Manager/Chef, you'll help lead the day-to-day operations of our kitchen and culinary team, including:

  • Leading the culinary department — setting expectations around cleanliness, training staff on food preparation, and keeping the kitchen organized and running smoothly
  • Hiring, onboarding, and training new kitchen team members
  • Stepping in to lead the department and support the team in the absence of the Culinary Services Director
  • Planning and preparing specials and events that enhance the resident dining experience
  • Preparing food using established recipes, with an eye for timeliness, quality, and consistency
  • Partnering on department goals and driving ongoing quality improvements
  • Determining food and supply needs and coordinating production with meal service times
  • Maintaining food safety documentation, including temperature logs and cleaning schedules
  • Upholding food safety, taste, and quality standards at all times
  • Ensuring proper preparation, portioning, and plating according to menu cycles and recipes
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health compliance
  • Practicing safety and loss prevention procedures, including proper food storage and label/date checks
  • Overseeing food ordering and inventory
  • Managing daily kitchen line setup and organization
  • Getting to know residents during mealtimes and checking in on their satisfaction
  • Other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Food Services Sanitation Certificate
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience, including food preparation, full-line menus, and therapeutic diets
  • Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak the primary language of residents
  • Ability to read and follow safety guidelines, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A genuine interest in working with and serving a senior population
  • A warm, courteous, and friendly approach with residents, guests, and staff
  • Flexibility to work varying hours as needed
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
The Perks of Working with Us
  • Competitive pay plus comprehensive benefits (available day one of your first full month of employment)
  • Generous PTO package, including your birthday as a paid holiday!
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Employee assistance program
Top Reasons to Work with Us
  • Family-owned and operated management company
  • Team approach to work
  • Smaller by design — Vantage Point isn't a big national chain, which means more corporate involvement and support for our team
  • Make a difference in the lives of those who live with us
