POSITION TITLE:                            Substitute Teacher (AAPS Retired Teacher Only)
POSITION LOCATION:                    To Be Determined
SALARY:                                          $225/day                                                  
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:       Building Principal
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The following is a list of qualifications for the position, any one of which may be waived by the Board in exercising its prerogative to determine qualifications.                 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate or be willing to obtain a Michigan Teacher Substitute Permit
Must have a bona fide termination and be retired, drawing your Michigan public school Office of Retirement Services pension

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach district-approved curriculum.
Develop lessons and instructional materials to provide individualized and small-group instruction that adapts to each pupil's curriculum needs.
Communicate regularly with parents outside the normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
Evaluate academic and social growth of students, keep appropriate records and prepare progress report.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Effectively present information and respond to questions in group settings.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents and community.
Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
