The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Sr Facilities Project Manager for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Under the guidance of the Department Head/Director, the Senior Facilities Project Manager coordinates, develops, designs, and budgets renovation projects throughout the University.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Interfaces with adynamic team of University technical staff, including project management, maintenance, safety, controls, commissioning, and utilities groups, to ensure that projects are implemented properly from conception through final acceptance.
  • The Sr. Project Manager runs anywhere from 5 -15 projects in various stages of Design and Construction with minimal supervision from the Director.
  • The Sr. Project Manager needs to be highly motivated, organized, and persistent with follow-up to keep projects on schedule and under budget.
  • The Sr. PM is responsible for Millions of dollars of design/construction work per year.
