Asphalt Specialist LLC, is seeking a highly organized, execution-focused Operations Manager to help ensure construction operations run efficiently and consistently across the organization. Working closely with the Vice President of Operations, this role provides the coordination, communication, and follow-through needed to keep projects, people, and priorities aligned.
The Operations Manager serves as a central point of coordination across Project Managers, field personnel, dispatch, equipment, estimating, and office staff, ensuring operational priorities are communicated clearly, resources remain aligned, and issues are identified and addressed before they impact production.
Success in this role comes from connecting people, monitoring execution, reinforcing processes, and ensuring leadership initiatives are carried out consistently across the organization.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
Experience and Skills
Core Responsibilities
Operational Coordination
  • Coordinate communication and workflow across Project Managers, field operations, dispatch, equipment, trucking, and office teams.
  • Ensure operational priorities are clearly communicated and consistently executed.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions from project planning through field execution.
  • Monitor day-to-day operations to identify bottlenecks, communication gaps, and resource constraints.
  • Reinforce standard operating procedures and promote consistency across all divisions.

Scheduling & Resource Planning
  • Maintain visibility into all active project schedules and operational priorities.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, trucking, subcontractors, and material resources across projects.
  • Work with operational leaders to proactively resolve scheduling conflicts and changing project needs.
  • Support weekly production, scheduling, and operations meetings by tracking decisions and next steps.

Accountability & Execution
  • Track operational commitments, action items, and deadlines across multiple departments.
  • Follow up with teams to ensure tasks are completed and issues are resolved.
  • Maintain accountability systems that improve execution without requiring direct supervisory authority.
  • Ensure leadership decisions are effectively implemented throughout the organization.

Reporting & Operational Visibility
  • Maintain operational dashboards, production reports, and key performance metrics.
  • Support WIP reporting, forecasting, production tracking, and schedule updates.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, action logs, and follow-up summaries.
  • Provide leadership with accurate, timely information on project status, operational challenges, and execution progress.

Process Improvement & Communication
  • Maintain and improve operational processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Strengthening communication and collaboration between field operations, project management, and leadership.
  • Coordinate recurring operational meetings and ensure decisions are communicated and followed through.
  • Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and accountability.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in construction operations, project management, project engineering, or operations coordination.
  • Experience in asphalt paving, heavy civil, site development, or concrete construction preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling, and project execution.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across field and office teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting and operational tracking are preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes and drive accountability across teams.
