This is an exciting opportunity to influence the strategic direction of one of Amazon's fastest growing and most successful businesses, with a focus on capturing growth opportunities and driving profitability improvement

The CA Retail Finance team supports the core category business (Hardlines, Softlines, Consumables) and various fast-growing and highly impactful programs (e.g., Daily Essentials, Subscribe and Save, Coupons, Private Brands, Amazon Business etc.). We are looking for an analytical, self-driven, and innovative Finance Analyst who is able to distill complex problems into solutions that drive business insights and finance process improvement. As a key member of the Canada finance team, you will develop strong business partnerships by frequently engaging with leadership teams, vendor managers, marketing, and operations partners to share financial insights, set strategy, and influence business decisions.
The successful candidate will have shown experience in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision making in rapidly evolving environments

This role requires a self-starter with strong modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, and an ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role also has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Key job responsibilities
- Owns Profit and Loss Statement across both 1P & 3P Business for their GL(s) (i.e. acts as the CFO of their business).
- Managing weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting including operational metrics.
- Communicating financial and business results to senior leaders; going beyond the "what happened", and focusing on the "what can we do about it".
- Seeing around corners for the next big opportunity and helping to scale those insights to your GL Counterparts across CA and NAS.
- Gathering analytical insights and developing financial frameworks that inform and measure investment decisions and help set the long-term strategy.
- Performing deep dive analyses to develop recommendations that impact the decision making of senior leadership; this is across profitability, topline, and cost out initiatives.
- Ensure a high level of financial controllership, maintaining data integrity.
- Partners with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to take deep dive findings and right size insights for their business partners, ultimately driving financially accretive actions.
