Summary

District Manager

The District Manager (DM) is responsible for achieving and maintaining all client and customer standards by overseeing and directing activities of Retail Sales Merchandisers within an assigned territory. This associate works closely with Regional Managers, Business Development Managers, clients, store managers, and various retail personnel to ensure retail business objectives are met.

The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.

Responsibilities

    Maintain client objectives by ensuring products are fully stocked, correctly signed, properly faced, and set according to merchandising standards

  • Drive sales and merchandising performance through display execution, incremental sales opportunities, forecasting, and distributor order support

  • Achieve retail execution goals by building strong retailer and client relationships, securing new item placement, and ensuring completion of retail projects

  • Conduct store audits and manage retail personnel to support client objectives and maximize in-store execution

  • Ensure product placement and shelf conditions meet client merchandising and schematic standards

  • Complete required reports, recaps, itineraries, timesheets, expense reports, and other administrative responsibilities accurately and on time

  • Oversee store coverage and scheduling to ensure field execution requirements are consistently met

  • Manage budgets and expenses to maintain financial discipline and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: Associate degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience Requirements: 3-5 years experience in military or civilian channels with 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred

  • Travel requirement: Up to 40% travel required; driving is an essential function of the role

Supervisor Responsibility

  • Direct Reports: Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

  • Indirect Reports: May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities

  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Environmental & Physical Requirements


Field Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed in a retail in-store environment, which may include working in variable temperatures such as refrigerated areas, freezer sections and deli/bakery areas. The position typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each workday performing the following activities: Engage in considerable physical activity, ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, stand on feet for long periods of time, use consumer goods products, prepare, and serve food and beverages safely as appropriate for the product demonstration.
